An outline of the Public Works Bureau
The Public Works Bureau is engaged in the construction, improvement, maintenance management, and other activities performed on urban planned roads, general roads, bridges, rivers, canals, parks, sewerage and other public facilities.

The Bureau is organized as follows:
The General Affairs Division is responsible for: bureau documentation, budgets and settlement functions, human resources, general policy management and planning, disaster prevention.
The Administration Division is responsible for: coordinating functions with respect to road excavation work, guidance and observations, property management, road management pursuant to the Road Law, outdoor advertising regulations, and other such matters.
The Roads and Streets Division is responsible for: planning and designs in connection with urban planning of road projects, track elevation projects, planning and construction in connection with general roads, bridges and other such matters.
The Parks and Greenery Division is responsible for: promoting greening projects as well as maintenance and management of park facilities such as the Tennoji Zoo and other parks.
The Sewerage and rivers Division is responsible for: planning of constructions , designs and maintenance of sewerage facilities, water quality control, management of rivers and canals, planning and construction of river projects, and other such matters
