Tsuchihashi Tomonao who belonged to one of the seven distinguished families proposed and founded a private school Gansuido in the second year of Kyoho (1717). Chinese Classics, Japanese classical literature, medicine, mathematics were not only lectured but also given relief at this school to the refugees by reserving a fund in case of famine. This school was closed by the order of educational system in the 5th of Meiji (1872) after 155 years of its history. | |
