of mainly Chinese and Korean ceramics including
2 national treasures. Approximately 260 items

Museum for Children, Kids Plaza Osaka

This is a learning space that combines the amazing,
the surprising, discoveries, museum exhibits
and an enjoyable workshop.
Closed on Mondays (the following day in the case
of public holidays), the New Year's break and
a temporary closure in early September.
Hours of operation: 9:30am-5:00pm (Admission
until 4:15pm). However, the museum is
open until 7:00pm (Admission until 6:15pm) on
the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month, Sundays,
public holidays and for the duration of the summer
holidays. Admission fee required.

Osaka Science Museum (Hall of Dreams, Space
and Wonder)

In addition to displaying exhibits on space and
energy, a Planetarium and Omnimax movie theater
is also housed in the museum.
Closed on Mondays (excluding public holidays),
days following public holidays (excluding Saturdays,

possible until 4:00pm).

The Osaka Museum of Housing and Living

This is Japan's first museum specializing in
the history and culture of housing and living.
The museum features a life-sized recreation
of a townscape from the Edo period.
Closed on Tuesdays (the following day in the
case of public holidays), days following public
holidays (unless that day is a Sunday or Monday),
the 3rd Monday of each month (the Wednesday of
that week if this day is a substitute holiday
or public holiday) and for the New Year's break.
Hours of operation: 10:00am-5:00pm (Admission
possible until 4:30pm).

Mint Museum

The National Museum of Art, Osaka

The exterior is a gigantic object d'art that
creates an image of development and growth
representing bamboo vitality and the growth
and progress of contemporary art. The museum
has relocated and opened at Nakanoshima to
become the new cultural center.
Closed: Monday (Tuesday when a holiday
falls on Monday) and the holiday over year-end
and New Year's
