Notification concerning residence(Notify the Resident registration section of the ward office or an appropriate section of the branch office.)

- Notification of change of address(if you change your residence within the same ward)
- Notification of change of household(if head of the household is changed, or it is separated)
Basic Resident Register is the important document that the current status of residence of a citizen is clarified to facilitate the paperwork for election, admission procedure and others. Therefore, please notify immediately when any change is made to your address or head of the household. At every ward office in Osaka city, the applicant is supposed to be confirmed by his/her identity at the reception counter, in order to prevent the false notification.See here for the details.

9:00 ~ 19:00(We extend opening hours to 19:00 every Friday at the reception desk.)

9:00 ~ 17:30(we are open on the 4th Sunday every month)
※Weekdays from Monday to Friday that are the national holidays or year change period (29th Dec. ~ 3rd Jan. ) are excluded.
※Please note that during the extended hours from 17:30 ~ 19:00 on Friday and on the 4th Sunday, not all the notifications should be received because, for example, depending on the nature of the notification, it might be required to confirm with the authority concerned. Contact us for the details.

Within 14 days from the date of move-in (change of address)

Resident registration section of the ward office or the branch office of the ward where you are going to live (where you will register your residency in)
Requisite
- Seal (No need if you sign your name in Notification of change of resident)
- Certificate of moving out (no need if you move to a different ward in Osaka city)
- Pension book (for only first insured persons of national pension )
- A form of identification of the applicant (driver’s license, National Health Insurance card, pension book etc.)
※If an agent visits the ward office to register the applicant’s change-of-address, he/she should bring the power of attorney that is given by the applicant or head of a household, and the seal of the attorney him/herself and his/her identity verification document with him/her.
※If additional statement of notification of moving out has been filed to the municipality from which you moved out, certificate of moving out is not required, but Basic Resident Register card is.

※If you move in a different ward within Osaka city, you don’t have to notify the ward office where you have lived. Just notify the ward office of the ward where you are going to live to have your change-of-address registered.
※If an agent visits the ward office to register the applicant’s change-of-address, he/she should bring the power of attorney that is given by the applicant or head of a household, and the seal of the agent him/herself and his/her identity verification document with him/her.
