Museum of Liberty Osaka

Liberty Osaka was opened in December 1985 as the first comprehensive museum on human rights in Japan. The museum is engaged in historic investigation into the buraku and other human right issues. It also collects, stores and publicizes related documents and cultural properties for the promotion and development of human rights awareness.

Hours: 10:00 - 17:00 (Admission up to 16:30)
Closed: Mondays (except for national holidays); day following a national holiday, fourth Friday of each month, year-end and New Year
Admission fee Individual: 250 yen for adults 150 yen for college/high school students (During a special exhibition, 500 yen for adults and 150 yen for college/high school students); Free of charge for junior high students and younger children, senior citizens aged 65 or older, and persons with a disability certificate.Discount available for group visitors.

Asia-Pacific Human Rights Information Center (HURIGHTS OSAKA)

HURIGHTS OSAKA is designed for international exchange of human rights information in the Asia Pacific region, investigation of human rights and personalities, extensive promotion of related training, enlightenment, public relations and publication, as well as for the fostering of human rights and proper awareness worldwide. The facility was established by the cooperation of Osaka City Government, Osaka Prefectural Government, local municipalities, and private organizations.
