Ochiai Shimo Watashi Ferry Landing
Crosses the Kizu-gawa River along with black-headed gulls

Oshiai Shimo Watashi Ferry connecting Hirao 1-chome, Taisho Ward and Tsumori 2-chome, Nishinari Ward is used by many people commuting to work or school. Every year from the end of October to the end of April, 300 black-headed gulls can be seen crossing the river, making this ferry a favorite and nature poetry (fubutsu-shi) of ward residents. The river (Kizu-gawa) is 138m wide.

Nearest Station Use city bus 94 and get off at Kobayashi Koen (Park) Mae, appx. 150m.
Time Schedule

Week Days: 6:30 - 19:25
Sundays and National Holidays 6:45 - 19:00

(The ferry leaves every 15 minutes, and as often as needed on weekdays 7:00 - 8:30 and 17:00 - 18:00)
*No service on January 1; cancelled during heavy weather
