Water Museum

Welcome to the Water Museum

Water Museum

The Water Museum preserves the site of the former No. 1 water distribution pump, which was the main pumping station for Osaka City from 1914 through 1986. The building is also architecturally beautiful, featuring a harmonious blend of red brick and granite construction.

The Water Museum offers easy-to-understand presentations on subjects such as the natural environments of Lake Biwa and the Yodogawa River, which are the water sources of Osaka City; 110 years of the city’s waterworks history; the nature of the link between water and daily life, and more.
