Osaka-Kita Operations Committee Chairman’s Prize, Kansai Illumination Technology Popularization Council

• June 20th, 1996
  The Kansai Illumination Technology Popularization Council, which is part of the Illuminating Engineering Institute of Japan, strives to spread lighting technologies and knowledge and to improve lighting facilities. A part of these initiatives, the award commends superior lighting facilities constructed over the preceding year. The committee is comprised of university professors, lighting engineers, and so on.

The Osaka Fashion Street Festival 1996 (Sponsored by the Osaka 21st Century Association and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry) City Residents EPrize (Illumination Category)

• December 13th, 1996
  The Water Museum, along with the Osaka Central Public Hall and Tenpozan, were awarded the Grand Prize by city resident vote from amongst a total of 74 nominations for the illumination category.

Metropolitan Scenic Grand Prize (Small Spaces Category, Scenery Division)

• October 6th, 1997
  Calls for applicants are made by the Urban Landscape Day Executive Committee and the Urban Design Center, with decisions on recipients made by the Center’s Review Committee. Every year, some 10 locations are selected form blocks around the country and awarded for taking the initiative on cohesive small-space design, in consideration of factors such as use of materials, attention to design details, and more.
