We Need Your Cooperation to Eliminate Lead Service Pipes

Since service pipes are the assets of individuals, managing them is the responsibility of the owner. At the same time, however, the Waterworks Bureau is moving ahead, as part of services for residents, with an organized initiative to replace lead service pipes (located) under roads based on a certain standard, in order to improve problems such as water leaks, water flow issues, earthquake-resistance of water service installation, and more.

The Bureau needs user’s cooperation with construction in order to achieve this goal.

In addition, we request that people living in residential areas bear the cost of replacing lead service pipes with other kinds of pipes when building new housing or renovating.

Inquire with a nearby Waterworks Bureau service office for information on lead service pipes in homes, water quality, construction costs, and loans for pipe construction costs.
