| @Legend has it that this temple was dedicated to Yakushinyorai (the Healing deity) which was made by Shotokutaishi (574 -622). The principal image was called Takoyakushi and was deeply worshipped by people. It is not known when the temple was founded but Sakanoue Tamuramaro was said to worship it. The temple was burned down by the Siege of Osaka Castle and was reconstructed by the Sueyoshi family in the first year of Kanei (1624). We are able to see the main building of those days remains now. |
