The Kumano Road , which was prosperous for many people making a pilgrimage visit to Kumano and Koya (Wakayama Prefecture ), The Kishu Road , which was constructed by daimyos of Kishu Tokugawa and Kishiwada Okabe to go up to Edo for an alternative -year attendance (sankin -kotai ) , are both running through this area from the north to the south locating about 500 ~ 600 meters away with each other . Transfer of people and commodities was in full flood in both of the Roads and the streets of the course developed and the sights to see naturally came into existence . Sign -posts are erected now along the Roads to tell you the course of them . So you can make an inquiry into the historical sites .
