| The construction was started in the 11
th year of Genroku (1698) by both Yokoi Genzaemon
and Kanaya Genbei of Kyoto and was completed
after three years to have an area of 72 Cho-bu
,around 7,1 square kilometers reclaimed. They suffered from floods several times even after the completion ,but at last such sufferings came to an end in the 5 th year of Ganbun (1740). The site of the newly reclaimed field is now situated at the school yard of Tsumori Elementary School, where the garden named Kogetsuan was also made and was famous together with the garden of Kasugai newly reclaimed field named Hasshuken. |
