The Abe Temple used to be situated around 2-chome, Matsuzaki-cho, Abeno-ku ,founded in the first half year of the Nara period . The foundation stone had been there for a long time before being moved to this site , former Kozu Residence . This site was contributed to Osaka City and the Residence transformed its appearance into Tengachaya Park . The stone is made of granite with a hole for the central pillar of the temple .and there is a hole dug still more for Buddha's bones within the hole . The stone is one of the historical materials for study of antiquity which reminds us of the prosperity of the ancient temple in Osaka .There was a medicine maker around here named Zesaiya from Omi district (Shiga Prefecture ) and its family carrying on a good business along the Kishu Road . especially the medicine named Wachusan was very famous among others .
