@Sato Gyogan was a man of letters who played an active role in the latter term of the Edo period from Kansei through Bunka (1789~about1818) but it is unknown when he was born and died . He was born in Nishi-ku in Osaka and became a merchant but was famous as a popular novelist and an author of Joruri .There is a tomb of the wife of Kamiya Jihei , Osan , in this temple . Jihei is a main character of "Shinju ( a double suicide ) Tennoamijima " .His wife Osan became a nun after his suicide with his lover .
