There is a temple now named Shouenji situated in the site of the Shoutenyama ancient tomb , which was founded by a priest named Kodo in the 2 nd year of Tenkei (939) . The temple has been familiar with faithful people being called " Tengachaya Shouten " Once there was a small hill named Tenguzuka and Zakurozuka and those ancient tombs were situated in this site . Earthenwares , swords and harnesses were excavated in the hill .The pedestal of the monument of " Daishokangiten " at the gate was found at Zakurozuka . Legend has it that the priest Kenkohoshi , who lived in seclusion around here , had once used it for binding straw .
You may well call the tomb Maruyama for it is rounded and excellent burial goods were excavated . As the upper part of the soil was suited for casting , the Navy of England purchased much of it in the 2 nd year of Taisho . It is said that Yoshida Kenko lived in seclusion around here and wrote the essay " Tsurezuregusa "
Komachizuka , Harimazuka and Matsumushizuka are little ancient tombs and have those own legend but it was not known who were buried  .
