| @In the Edo period , the sumac was planted
for 4 kilometers long on a bank along the
Imagawa river . In the autumnal leaves season
, the bank was crowded with people for viewing
the scarlet maple leaves and visiting to
worship the Hirano Dainenbutsuji temple.
There were shops standing in a line to sell
the famous "Shinko mochi ( rice cake
) of Kuwazu " Having a rest in these
shops , the aged spoke ill of their daughters
-in law , the bank was named " Yome
soshiri tsutsumi " ( the bank of abusing
daughter-in law ) The bank was also named
" Byodo tsutsumi " for the Kumata
village belonged to the domain of the Uji
Byodoin Temple for some time . |
