| It is said that the Sumuchiji temple was
founded by Fujiwara Fuhito ( 659-720 ) and the priest Genbo lived first . It was burned down to ashes by war in the end of the Heian era , so a mound was built here at this site by the burned soil . There is a base-stone left that seems to have been used as a foundation in the Jouenji temple ( 4-chome, Sunji Yata ). |
