The program covers health checkup costs for pregnant women and infants at medical institutions in Osaka City. Health checkups except blood tests for pregnant women are available at maternity homes in Osaka City.

- Basic health checkups for pregnant women (14 times)
Doctor's questions; medical exam; blood pressure measurement; body weight measurement; abdominal circumference and fundal height measurement; urine exam; health guidance
- Once in early pregnancy
Anemia exam; blood type (ABO type/Rh factor) exam; irregular antibody screening; serological test for syphilis; hepatitis B antigen test; hepatitis C antibody test; HIV antibody test; blood sugar test; rubella virus antibody test; cervical cytology test
- Once in early pregnancy and between 24 and 35 weeks of pregnancy
Blood sugar test
- Once in early pregnancy, between 24 and 35 weeks of pregnancy, and between 36 weeks of pregnancy and delivery
Blood count test
- Once between the early stages and 30 weeks of pregnancy
HTLV-1 antibody test; genital chlamydia screening
- 4 times during pregnancy
Ultrasound test
- Once between 33 and 37 weeks of pregnancy
Group B hemolytic streptococcus test

Procedure |
Checkup cards for health checkups for pregnant women are issued, bound in the pregnant women health checkup book, along with the Mother and Child Health Record Book.
The health checkup card for infants (early infancy) is issued along with the Mother and Child Health Record Book.
The health checkup card for infants (later infancy) is issued at the time of the health checkup for infants of 3 months old.
The issuance of health checkup cards is handled by the Health Section of the Health and Welfare Center in your ward. |
