Outline

A visiting counselor (midwife) or health nurse will make a home visit to provide counseling and guidance regarding infant’s physical growth and development, breast-feeding, disease prevention, and mother’s health conditions.

Health guidance for women who have a feeling of uneasiness or anxiety about pregnancy and childbirth

[Visiting guidance for mothers and babies: all families with infants]
Health guidance for all families with newborn babies within the first 28 days of life

Health guidance for both mothers (or guardians) and infants until the medical checkup for 3-month-old infants

Procedure

[Visiting Guidance for Expectant and Nursing Mothers]
If you have a feeling of uneasiness or anxiety about pregnancy or childbirth, please call or visit the Health and Welfare Center in your ward for seeking for consultation.

[Visiting guidance for mothers and babies: all families with infants]
After delivery, please immediately fill out and submit the Newborn Childbirth Notification that is attached to the Mother and Child Health Record Book to the Health and Welfare Center in your ward. Upon receipt the notification (or application by telephone or visit), a public health nurse or counselor (midwife) will visit your home to provide health guidance.
