Ten-jinja-ato-hi (Monument of the Former Ten Shrine)
Takejima was once called Takenomachi. It is said that Ten Shrine was established in 1594. According to the 1677 cadastral register of Kashima Village, the shrine’s property was approximately 83 m2.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Takenomachi was renamed Takejima. In 1823, the shrine’s main building was repaired, and in 1826, a pair of stone lanterns was donated to the shrine, indicating how the shrine was venerated then by residents in the community. In 1909, however, the shrine merged with Kaguwashi Shrine (Kashima, Yodogawa Ward), and was relocated. Currently, within the precincts of Kaguwashi Shrine, Sukunahiko-okami and Onamuchi-okami are enshrined as deities of Takejima Shrine.
