Yagura Ryokuchi (Natural Araiso Beach)
From Onogawa Ryokuin Doro to Yagura Ryokuchi by way of Yodogawa breakwater. Yagura Ryokuchi, which is sandwitched between Yodogawa River and the mouth of Kanzaki-gawa River, was built on reclaimed farmland by a land-fill project conducted after the fields were inundated during the No.1 Muroto Typhoon in 1934. Construction began in 1997 and it was opened as an urban park on September 1, 2000.

Rare for Osaka, this park makes direct contact with the sea with no intervening concrete sea wall. In place of this there is a natural rock barrier making a tidal pool where beach and water meet, where small fish swim back and forth through the inlet and crabs, barnacles and sea lice can be seen.

Since the surrounding area is a temporary resting place for migratory birds, it is a natural bird sanctuary for bird-watching and where spot-billed ducks and black-headed gulls can be seen.

The night view from Yagura Ryokuchi with its silhouette of the Hanshin Expressway Wangan-sen (Bay Line Route) is now a new symbol for Nishiyodogawa Ward.
