■Mooring and sailing assistance
The Port of Osaka provides tugboat service and mooring line-handler helping incoming and outgoing vessels around the clock by private companies.

■Water supplies(06-6571-1745)
Vessels in port can avail themselves of fresh water supplies at 49 shore hydrants(600ton/hr) or from the port's water supply ship(300ton and so on).

 

■Osaka Port Radio(06-6615-7071)
Through the use of international short-wave(VHF)radio, the Osaka Port Radio provides information to vessels regarding berth designation, tugboat services, mooring line-handlers and quarantine application.

 

■Osaka Customs(06-6576-3001)
Osaka Customs controls foreign vessels and cargo in order to prevent smuggling, and gives permission for imports and exports.

In order to ensure safe and efficient transport and navigation, the Kinki District Transport Bureau is responsible for the guidance and supervision of marine transport operators, as well as the administration of examinations for various seamen's qualifications.

■Osaka Quarantine Station(06-6571-3521)
The duties of the Osaka Quarantine Station include hygiene inspections of ships, surveying the sanitary conditions within the harbor, administering quarantine periods for imported goods and safeguarding the population against epidemics by providing information on vaccination and inoculating overseas travelers.

■Osaka Regional Immigration Bureau(06-4703-2100)
Immigration procedures for passengers and crew of ships entering or departing the port are handled by the Osaka Regional Immigration Bureau.

 

■Kobe Plant Quarantine Office(06-6571-0801)
To prevent the introduction of diseases and noxious pests, all imported and exported plant products, such as fruit, vegetables, grains and lumber, are inspected by the Osaka branch of the Kobe Plant Quarantine Office.

 

■Animal Quarantine Kobe Station(06-6575-3466)
In addition, all animal products and livestock, including poultry, domestic animals, meat and hide products, are subject to inspection and quarantine at the Osaka Branch of the Animal Quarantine Kobe Station.

The Osaka Marine Fire Station has two fire-fighting boats and the team of diving rescue on twenty-four hour patrol, ready to respond to fires or other emergencies.

 

■Osaka Water Police Station(06-6575-1234)
The Osaka Water Police Station maintains a twenty-four hour surveillance, targeting smuggling and combating crime in the Osaka Bay area.

 

■Pilot Service(078-321-2200)
A ship is obliged to use a pilot service when it sails in specific waters such as “Osaka Bay” or its knowledge about an “individual port and harbor” is limited. Serving as an advisor, a pilot helps the captain to navigate the ship safely. To ensure the convenience of a ship, the Port of Osaka takes every measure, which includes an around-the-clock service to a container ship entering and departing the Port.
