Namihaya Ohashi at the mouth of Shirinashi-gawa connects Taisho Ward to the Minato Ward radial road and serves as an evacuation route for the harbor district in times of disaster.
For a number of reasons an irregular curve has developed in the alignment of the horizontal connecting beams of this the longest jumbo bridge in Japan (580m long with a road width of 11m) with a distance of 250m between the central upright beams and 500m long, 11m wide at the high beam section on the Taisho Ward side. It is the second toll bridge built in Osaka.
Transportation: Take city bus 55, 71, 80, 90, 91, or 94 and get off at Tsuru-machi 2-chome and walk 7-8 minutes. |
