Taisho-bashi
The old Taisho Bridge was built in 1915 as part of main artery road connecting the rapidly developing industrial zone of Taisho Ward to old Osaka City. With a span of 90m, it was the largest arch bridge in Japan, but because it was built at a time when design standards for such bridges had not yet been established it suffered severe damage, so on the occasion of city planning expansion a new bridge was built downstream and the old bridge was torn down in 1971. Later the upstream section was widened and in 1977 it took on its present shape (bridge length 70.96m, road width 41m) as the bridge connecting Taisho and Naniwa Wards.

In design the bridge railing resembles a five-line music score notation of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the pedestrian walk a metronome, and the road surface piano keys.

On the north of Higashizume there is a small park with a large monument describing the huge tidal wave of 1815 that swept over Osaka.

Transportation:
Take the JR or subway to Taisho Station, or the city bus to Taisho-bashi and walk north 200m.
