ELM Osaka, Osaka Municipal Support Center for Persons with Developmental Disorders

ELM Osaka was established to support persons with developmental disorders and their family members by providing consultation. Specifically, this center offers information and advice on matters relating to developmental disorders, and assists persons with such disorders in solving or alleviating their problems by working with their schools or institutions if necessary. In addition, it provides training courses for related organizations, companies and parents to help them gain a better understanding of the nature of developmental disorders and of the needs of persons with such disorders so that they can give more appropriate support to these persons.

Overview of Services (事業内容・相談内容)

  1. Offering advice
    The center offers information and advice to persons with developmental disorders and their family members, as well as related organizations, institutions and other bodies upon request.
  2. Supporting related institutions
    The center helps persons with developmental disorders solve or alleviate their problems by working in cooperation with the organizations with which they are affiliated, such as kindergartens, day-care centers, schools, and welfare institutions.
  3. Offering job hunting assistance
    The center works with related organizations to offer information and advice to persons with developmental disorders who wish to work and assists them in finding a job.
  4. Providing information and training to educate the public
    The center provides information on developmental disorders through brochures and its website and organizes training courses to spread the correct understanding of developmental disorders and educate people on how they can better support persons with such disorders.
