How to Avoid Getting Scammed

1

Confirm the name of the company, the name of the salesperson, and the purpose of their visit.

2

Turn them down firmly when offers are not necessary for you.

3

If you can't decide, do not sign a contract on the spot; consult with other members of your family.

4

Even a verbal promise is a contract, so don't give a vague reply.

5

Beware of sellers who are in a hurry to get you to sign.

6

Make sure details of the contract are the same as the explanation given to you by the seller. There are some cases where the explanation from the seller is different from the contract.

7

If you think that you do not need the offer even after you’ve signed a contract made through personal solicitations and other sales methods, take advantage of the Cooling-off system to cancel the contract.

8

If you think something is suspicious, immediately consult with the Consumers’ Center.
