About Osaka’s Hosting of World Expo 2025

Not only will World Expo 2025 in Japan be a great opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of Osaka and Kansai and to promote the region's attractions to the world, but Osaka will also aim to maximize the impact of the Expo such that, rather than being just a one-off event, it will lead to growth in both Osaka and Kansai.

The World Expo 2025 theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” and in addition to enabling individuals to consider what kind of life they aspire to lead and to take maximum advantage of their potential, the event will bring together international society to create a sustainable society to underpin those lifestyles.

By treating event venues as a “People’s Living Lab”—a testbed for new technologies and systems—World Expo 2025 will spur innovation by a diverse range of players and create a gigantic mechanism for implementing them in society.
