Co-payment Rate Applicable to Those Aged 70 or Older
(70歳以上の一部負担金など)

Eligibility for a “National Health Insurance Recipient Card for Seniors” (「国民健康保険高齢受給者証」の交付を受ける人)

A 国民健康保険高齢受給者証 (Kokumin Kenko Hoken Korei Jukyushasho or National Health Insurance Recipient Card for Seniors) is issued to those aged between 70 and 74 years old who are covered by National Health Insurance. The co-payment rate for medical expenses, 20% (10%)* or 30% for those who earn more than certain amount of income, is indicated on the card.
Please be sure to present your National Health Insurance Recipient Card for Seniors together with your National Health Insurance Certificate when receiving medical services at a medical institution.

Those who were born before April 2, 1944 shall have 10% of co-payment rate due to the preferential measure by the government.

Co-payment Rates Granted to Holders of the “National Health Insurance Recipient Card for Seniors” (「国民健康保険高齢受給者証」の負担割合について)

The co-payment rate is 20% (10%) or 30% in consideration of your income level. For more information, please inquire at the department in charge of health insurance andpension programs at your local ward office.
