Osaka City provides with coupons that can be exchanged for in-home care products of various kinds to the people who take care of (an) elderly family member(s) certified as in need of long-term care.

Osaka City provides with coupons that can be exchanged for in-home care products of various kinds to the people who take care of (an) elderly family member(s) certified as in need of long-term care.

Eligibility (対象者)

Family caregivers living in Osaka City who provide in-home care to the elderly who live in Osaka City and falls under the requirements mentioned below (who are certified as in need of long-term care):

1. The elderly who is certified as in need of level 4 or 5 care under the long-term care insurance program, or
2. The elderly who is certified as in need of level 3 care under the long-term care insurance program, and recognized as totally dependent on a caregiver for either “urination” or “defecation”, items in 認定調査票 (Nintei Chousahyo or Certification Questionnaire).

* This program is applicable on condition that both household members of the elderly person in need of care and of the family caregiver have their addresses in Osaka City and that both are exempt from municipal tax.

In-home care products provided under the program (支給対象品目)

1. Disposable adult diapers (flat-type, underpants-type, and pull-up-type)
2. Urine absorption pads
3. Body cleansing agents for bathing in bed
4. Dry shampoo
5. Disposable gloves
6. Spoons and forks designed for nursing care
7. Chopsticks designed for nursing care
8. Bedpans
9. Urinals
10. Waterproof sheet
11. Oral cavity care products
12. Meal apron　　　　
13. Deodorant
14. Thickening agent

Allowance (支給方法)

Upon application, the coupons (worth 6,500 yen per month) that can be exchanged for in-home care products covered by the program are provided, beginning from the month when approval is given. (A total of 12 coupons are issued per year.)

* Provision of In-home Care Products program is applicable from July to June of the following year every fiscal year. Therefore people who are currently benefited should make an application for renewal. For new applicants, the specified number of coupons is to be issued according to the month when approval is given.

How to use the coupons (給付券と介護用品との交換)

You will receive supplier brochures for in-home care products when coupons are issued. Select the products you need for in-home care from the brochures and place an order with the supplier by telephone, facsimile, or e-mail. You can receive the product delivered to your home in exchange for the coupons.

How to apply (申請手続き及び問合せ先)

Please inquire and apply to the Welfare Departments of the Public Health and Welfare Center of the ward where the elderly person in need of care lives.
