| Sakata Sankichi was a famous player
of shogi, Japanese chess, born in Osaka and
a leading character of the play named "Ousyo"
and one of the most distinguished characters
of the Osaka syogi players. Kansai Syogi Kaikan was founded in the 57th of Syowa. The fourth and fifth floors of its building were open as a museum of syogi. The old historical documents which was presented by the head family of Japanese shogi, Ohashi Family, the collection of Kimura Yoshio's, the 14th winner of the championship and all kinds of materials concerning shogi are in display with panel. On the 5th floor there is a reconstruction of the Kurosyoin in the main building of Edo Castle, where we are reminded of the old shogi in Castle. |
