The monument of Literature
There are many literary men who were dead in Osaka and the scenes of many works were laid also in Osaka.
The Committee was founded to erect the monument of literature in 1979 in order to introduce and manifest those people and places concerned.
 There are 15 monuments (Nakanoshima・Tsurumi course 3, Uemachidaichi-kita course 10, Uemachidaichi-minami course 2).
They selected in good circumstances the places and monuments in connection with the literature worthy to be honored.
The inscribed passage of the monument of literature reminds you of looks of authors and traces of the scenes.
We recommend you to read the guidebook "The Monument of Literature of Osaka City" published by Citizens' Affairs Bureau.
