He was born in Kyomachibori(Nishi-ku). His father's occupation was a soy sauce brewing named Izumiya(the 5th year of Kansei〜the first year of Manen, 1793-1860).
He was fond of literature and carried on some businesses but he met with such difficulties that his shop was collapsed by the Shogunate because of the prohibition order against every luxurious life.
The other misfortune is that he fell under suspicion of being involved in a riot of Hyakusyo(farmers) during his stay at Tanba Fukuchiyama and was put in jail.
He suddenly died after 20 days from his acquittal.
Settsu Meisyozue Taisei was his masterpiece of scenic spots and places of historical interest but it was not published during his lifetime.
