| In the Edo era, every feudal clans
set up a Kurayashiki, or a warehouse, around
the Nakanoshima because this area was excellent
facilities of water transport. Kurayashiki is a warehouse to keep land tax of rice and products in storage and turn them into money. Here was the site of the Takamatsu clan's Kurayashiki. There was a watergate for the vessel to get straight into the Kurayashiki warehouse. |
