The site of Ikegami Yukie Juvenile Reformatory   
   3-20, Matsugaecho, Kita-ku
[ Higashitemma ] by bus, about 300m to the northwest
 He was a Shintonist.
 He founded around here the earliest juvenile reformatory in Japan with a vocational aid center in the 16th year of Meiji(1883).
 While manufacturing here such as sticks, handles of umbrellas and soaps that were coming into fashion at that time, he made an effort to guide juveniles.
 The Reformatory was closed after his death in the 26th year of Meiji.
 His tomb is near by, in the Rittoji temple (Yorikimachi).
