Kakumanji (Temple)
   3-1, 1-chome, Nagarahigashi, Kita-ku
[ Tenjinbashisuji 6-chome ] by Tanimachi Line and Sakaisuji Line, about 300m to the east
 This temple was said to be built in the era of Nara and later moved here in the 3rd year of Horeki(1753).
 The temple was famous for its cherry-blossoms in the precincts but the trees died suffered from a flood of the Yodogawa river in the18th year of Meiji.
 The temple bell has an inscription "the 10th year of Taihei (China,1030)" made in Korea.
 It is a masterpiece made in the early years of Korai and was designated as the important cultural asset.
 It is unknown why and how the bell was brought over to Japan but was found in the region of the Mouri clan (Yamaguchi Prefecture) under its construction work and was later contributed to the temple.
 Among other properties was a Senju Kannon portrait made in the last years of Kamakura period (a tangible cultural property of Osaka Prefecture).
