According to "Nihonshoki" in the passage of the 12th year of the Emperor Bidatsu, Nichira was born in the Higo district (Kumamoto Prefecture).
He had been in Kudara for a long time and was familiar with affairs of it.
At that time Japan intended to help Mimana which had been obliged to belong to Shiragi, so he was summoned to come back home and he advised the Emperor on his policy-making to accomplish this purpose.
However, his attendants from Kudara assassinated him for fear of giving disadvantage to their country.
The site around here was said to be the first place where he was buried. The monument had been in front of a house about 200m away to the west.
