| The Furuzutsumi Road which branched
off around Kyobashi Station, Keihan Line,
from Kyokaido road and led to Ikoma city (Nara
Prefecture) was also called the Nozakimichi
road, for the road was crowded with those
who paid a visit to the Jigenji temple at
Nozaki in Daito city from the years of Genroku
(at the end of 17c) to the end of Meiji era. The faithful people would often exchange words loudly in a holiday mood during visiting to the temple between those who walked on the road and who used vessels aboard on the Neyagawa river. Such a scene was often adopted as material for Rakugo, a comic story told by a professional storyteller. |
