Before the reconstruction of the Yodogawa
river, the Yamada Road, which started at
Fukushima and its vicinity, ran together
at the southern side (on the left) of the
Nakatsugawa river with the Chugoku Road,
which started at Koraibashi and ran through
the west side of the public office of Yodogawa-ku
by way of the Jusowatashi ferry (later Jusobashi
bridge). The Chugoku Road ran toward the
northwest from here to Amagasaki and Shimonoseki
via the Kanzakibashi bridge and the Yamada
Road ran toward the northwest from here to
Yamada in Suita City by way of the eastern
side of the Kamitsujinja along the lines
of the Hankyu Railways to the north.
If you visit the eastern side of the Kamitsujinja,
or Nishi 1-chome, Kigawa, Yodogawa-ku by
crossing the Yodogawa street toward the southeast,
you will find that it has some vestiges of
the Yamada Road, or the Nose Road (cf. Photo). |
