The Nakatsugawa river was running around
here before the Yodogawa river was repaired
and a street of the Nozato Sumiyoshi stores
was situated where it corresponds to the
right bank of the Nakatsugawa river. The
Nozato ferry was set to cross the river to
the other side of the bank and it was a part
of the Umeda Road. The toll wooden bridge
named Kashiwa (Oak) Bridge was set in the
9th year of Meiji instead of the ferry. This
bridge was used until the Nakatusgawa river
was filled up in the 39th year of Meiji by
the construction of the Shin-Yodogawa river.
There is a monument made of the base-store
of the bridge corresponding to the north
end site of it (20-14,Nozato, 1-chome).
