The site of Kunijima Castle  
  19-5, 2-chome, Kunijima, Higashiyodogawa-ku
[ Kunijima ] by Hankyu Line about 200m to the east
 Kunijima was an important location as a base from the western provinces to Kyoto. Hosokawa Harukata and Miyoshi Masanaga (1549) and the others occupied the castle as their advantageous position. When the castle was abolished is unknown. We are able to find that the address of a village section around here remains the words of Honmaru (keep of a castle) and Shiromichi (road of or toward a castle) and so on and that the place which is 1-2 m higher, 200 meters round. It is said that this is the site of the Kunijima Castle.
