The Jizo shrine was founded in the 3rd year of Koka (1846). It was once situated in the Sakamaki village which is now a place of the Yodogawa riverbed in the neighborhood of the Toyosato-ohashi bridge. The stream around here was so swift and violent that vessels had to cross the river with their sails rolling up in the opposite direction in fear of the safety. The Jizo shrine was founded to let many victims rest in peace and removed here in the 12th year of Taisho (1923).
