Osaka Port Seascape

Serving the Osaka metropolitan area, the port is utilised by citizens as a place to live, work and enjoy. In recent years, with the construction of numerous new facilities, the port has become a popular recreation district, visited by increasing numbers of international and domestic guests. These kinds of activities have not only contributed to the vitality of the port, they have also encouraged development and growth.
In order to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and beyond, development at the Port of Osaka is focused on creating a comfortable, enjoyable and attractive port with high quality facilities. With this goal in mind, development at the port is carried out paying particular attention to landscaping and aesthetics.

Towards a More Comfortable Port

Rocky shoreline(Maishima Arbor zone)   As part of this vision, the Port of Osaka is committed to the ongoing maintenance and upgrade of the district's various public parks and large-scale arbor zones.

Towards a More Enjoyable Port

Tempozan Harbor Village   In accordance with the 'Osaka Cityscape Regulations', drafted in 1998 and promulgated the following year, the waterfront has been designated as a `Port Facilities Zone'. In order to take full advantage of the area's characteristic features, the municipal government is committed to continuing discussions regarding the ongoing development of the Osaka Port Seascape.
