Location
: Higashi-Kohama 1-chome through 3-chome
The highway dates back to the time of Nobunaga Oda and the battle of Ishiyama.
In its entirety, the highway ran from Sakaisuji Avenue through Nipponbashi,
Nagurebashi, Tengachaya, and Tenjin-no Mori to right in front of Sumiyoshi
Grand Shrine's stone torii gate. From there, it wended its way through
Anryu, over Yamato Bridge and into Sakai. These days the Hankai Tramway
runs along the old highway, giving the area a very unique feel. |
