Sembommatsu Ohashi
Sembommatsu Ohashi was built at the lowest downstream limit of Kizu-gawa, the site of the Sembommatsu Watshi Ferry (at the time transporting nearly 8,000 passengers and two-wheel vehicles) to develop the area part and relieve traffic congestion in central Osaka.

This bridge connecting Minami Okajima, Taisho Ward with Minami Tsumori, Nishinari Ward, 323.5m long with an effective road width of 9.75m (plus a sidewalk 2.35m wide), built in October 1973 is Osaka's first spiral bridge. The height of the bridge in the center is 36m allowing ships with mast rising as high as 34m above the water surface to pass under with ease. There are access ramps on both sides; the length of the one on the Taisho Ward is 452.4m long and the road width is 12.25m (plus a sidewalk 2.5m wide).

With the completion of the bridge, vehicles from South Osaka had direct access to the industrial area of Taisho Ward, eliminating the former circuitous through the center of Osaka.

Other jumbo bridges followed in succession: Minato Ohashi in neighboring Minato Ward (1974), Hirabayashi Ohashi and Kamome Ohashi (1976).

Transportation: Take city bus 76 for Suminoe Park Subway Station and get off at Sembommatsu-bashi Nishizume and you are there.
