Shin Kizu-gawa Ohashi
Shin (New) Kizu-gawa Ohashi was built along with the “Technoport Osaka” project, which embraced the entire Osaka Harbor district to turn it into a cultural, sports, recreation, residential area and expand complex city functions with state-of-the-art facilities, as part of a radial road network in the harbor area for the purpose of facilitating physical distribution and relieving traffic congestion. Shin Kizu-gawa Ohashi is located at the mouth of Kizu-gawa River connecting Taisho Ward and Suminoe Ward and extends to a total length of 2.4km, permiting 150m wide 46m high ships to pass beneath it. The bridge itself is 495m long with a road width of 11.25m, constructed with access bridges on both sides, and the main beams were built with due consideration not only to economic and structural factors but to the view as well. The approach from the Taisho Ward side (880.96m long and 12.75m wide) uses a 3-layer loop design to conserve land area.

At present this is the largest bridge of this type in Japan and as one if the representative bridges of Osaka Harbor in 1994 it received the Society of Civil Engineers "Tanaka Sho" award.

On this bridge vehicle traffic and passenger lanes are separated, but bicycles are permitted on the passenger lane.

Transportation: Take city bus 70 and get off at Naka Funamachi and you are there.
