1683 (Jokyo 3) | Zuiken Kawamura excavated the Aji River for the flood control of the Yodo River. |
Around 1700 (Genroku-Houei era) |
New rice fields developed. Those developed area were named Ichioka, Tanaka, Yahataya, etc. and the names still remain today. |
1831 (Tempo 2) | ![]() |
1868 (Meiji 1) | Osaka Harbor opened. (It was called Kawaguchi Pier) |
1889 (Meiji 22) | Osaka was municipalized. (Current Minato Ward was Nishinari County Kawaminami Village) |

1925 (Taisyo 14) | Birth of Minato-Ward (Population: 281,678 and number of houses: 69,730.) The ward consisted of Kujo, Ichioka, Kawaminami, Sangenya, Izumio. |
1934 (Syowa 9) | Typhoon Muroto |
1941 (Syowa 16) | The Pacific War broke out. |

1961年(Syowa 36) | Typhoon Muroto II. The national railway (now JR) established Bentencho Station on Kanjo (belt) line. Osaka's Subway System established the line Osakako - Bentencho. |
1964 (Syowa 39) | Subway line opened between Bentencho and Honmachi. |
1974 (Syowa 49) | Minato Ohashi (bridge) completed. |
1975 (Syowa 50) | First Minato Town People Festival was held. |
1988 (Syowa 63) | Sunflower and Cherry Blossom were selected as the flowers of the ward. Tempozan Bridge completed. |
1989 (Heisei 1) | Hansin Expressway Osakako line opened. |

1992 (Heisei 4) | Completion of Bay area restoration and readjustment of town lots project. |
1993 (Heisei 5) | ORC 200 opened. |
1994 (Heisei 6) | Hansin Expressway Wangan Line opened. |
1995 (Heisei 7) | Kobe Earthquake broke out. Namihaya Bridge opened. |

1999 (Heisei 11) | Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship in Osaka was held. |
