Multipurpose underground conduits are situated under roads and house
electrical and telephone cables, gas piping, and water supply and sewerage
lines in single bundles. This precludes the need to dig up roads, which
in turn minimizes interruptions to traffic flow and maintains a stable
supply of essential utilities when disaster strikes. Five lines of such conduits measuring 11.2 kilometers in total have been completed in the city of Osaka. |
