Port of Osaka
The port of Osaka is located in the west of Osaka City, in the north it is separated from Hyogo Prefecture by the Kanzaki River, and in the south it borders the city of Sakai, separated by the Yamato River. Since its opening to foreign trade in 1868, Osaka increased dramatically thanks to the construction of new ports and modern facilities. Now, Osaka Port became one of the nation's leading ports and one of Asia's major trade ports.
After the destruction in the Second World War, as part of Japans` economic redevelopment and the rehabilitation of the Kansai-area, the Port of Osaka was soon reconstructed and its` facilities rationalized. Now it has become an international trading port with comprehensive port-services.
