City of Osaka’s Major Forms of Support for Ukrainian Evacuees

1. Establishment of Consultation Counters

Consultations on housing, education, employment, medical care, and other living information matters.

Available at the following:

All ward offices situated in Osaka City
Osaka International House Foundation (Languages: Japanese and English)

2. Securing Municipal Housing

50 housing units for evacuees

3. Reception by Schools

To help coordinate flexible transition into municipal elementary and junior high schools, support of Japanese language education will be provided to children of elementary-junior high school age groups.

4. Other Support Relating to Daily Life

The Osaka International House Foundation offers interpretation support for registrations and application procedures at ward office. Other efforts will focus on providing essential information for daily living in Osaka.

5. City of Osaka’s Relief Fund for Ukraine

This relief fund is supported by donations from Osaka citizens. The proceeds will go toward assisting Ukrainian evacuees who are adapting to life in Osaka. Registration of donations are now underway.
